What is the meaning of Uvula?

Uvula is widely used term in Dental Anatomy.

The uvula is a small, fleshy, cone-shaped structure located at the back of the mouth, specifically in the midline of the soft palate. It hangs down from the end of the soft palate and is composed of connective tissue and muscle fibers. The uvula plays a role in various oral functions such as speech, swallowing, and preventing the passage of food and liquid into the nasal cavity during swallowing. It also helps with the production of certain sounds during speech.
