What is the meaning of Pulp Tester?

Pulp Tester is widely used term in Dental Tools.

A pulp tester is a dental tool used to assess the vitality or sensitivity of a tooth’s pulp. The pulp, located within the innermost part of the tooth, contains nerves and blood vessels. The tester typically consists of a handheld device with an electrode that delivers a mild electric current to the tooth. By applying the electrical stimulation to the tooth’s surface, the dentist or dental professional can measure the response from the pulp. The sensitivity or lack thereof indicates the health and function of the tooth’s pulp. This information helps in diagnosing conditions such as pulpitis (inflammation of the pulp) or determining the need for root canal treatment.
