What is the meaning of Palatal?

Palatal is widely used term in Dental Miscellaneous Term.

In dental terminology, palatal refers to the surface or area of the mouth that is located on the roof of the oral cavity. Specifically, palatal refers to the upper, back portion of the mouth, above the teeth and behind the alveolar ridge. This area can include the hard palate (the bony portion) as well as the soft palate (the more flexible, muscular portion). The palatal surface is involved in various dental procedures and treatments, such as when placing dental appliances like braces or when performing oral surgeries in this region.
