What is the meaning of Mesial?

Mesial is widely used term in Dental Miscellaneous Term.

Mesial is a term used in dental terminology and refers to the surface or area of a tooth that is closest to the midline of the mouth. It is the surface that is towards the front of the mouth, facing towards the adjacent teeth in the same arch. The opposite of mesial is distal, which refers to the surface or area that is furthest away from the midline.
