What is the meaning of Endodontic Therapy?

Endodontic Therapy is widely used term in Dental Techniques.

Endodontic therapy, also commonly referred to as root canal treatment, is a dental technique that involves the removal of infected or damaged pulp from the inside of a tooth. The pulp is the soft tissue located in the center of the tooth, consisting of blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue.

When the pulp becomes infected or inflamed due to dental decay, trauma, or repeated dental procedures, endodontic therapy is necessary to prevent further damage or tooth loss. During the procedure, the dentist carefully removes the infected pulp, cleans and disinfects the root canals, and then fills them with a biocompatible material to seal off the tooth.

Endodontic therapy aims to save natural teeth and provide relief from tooth pain, infection, and inflammation. It is a crucial dental technique to relieve discomfort, promote oral health, and restore the functionality and appearance of the affected tooth.
