Dentinal sclerosis is a dental condition where the dentin, the hard tissue beneath a tooth’s enamel, undergoes mineralization or hardening. This often occurs as a natural aging process or in response to stimuli like tooth decay or wear.

While it can fortify the tooth, making it less susceptible to decay, it can also make dental procedures like root canals more challenging due to the reduced size of the pulp chamber and root canals.
