What is the meaning of Apex?

Apex is widely used term in Dental Anatomy.

In dental anatomy, the term “apex” refers to the highest point or tip of a tooth’s root. It is the terminal end of the root where the nerves and blood supply enter the tooth through an opening called the apical foramen. The apex is also the location where infections of the root canal system may occur, which can lead to pain and dental abscesses.
