What is the meaning of Symphysis Mentis?

Symphysis Mentis is widely used term in Dental Anatomy.

Symphysis mentis refers to the anatomical structure located in the anterior region of the mandible, commonly known as the chin. It is the midline area where the two halves or “rami” of the mandible meet and fuse together during development. The symphysis mentis is characterized by a fibrous joint called the symphysis which allows for minimal movement and flexibility in the mandible.
